Stages of our work

An attitude of stewardship to the environment and responsibility to the forest land is evident in all aspects of our businesses.

Plant Sapling/Sapling Regenerated Naturally
Leibering & Sons accepts the responsibility of tree regeneration in their harvesting practices and tree planting with over 35 million trees planted.

Select trees for harvest and follow a management plan
Timber is selected upon an ecologically science-based management plan and harvested using Indiana’s Best Management Practices by Leibering & Sons, Inc.

Harvest and Transport
Standing timber is processed into logs and transferred to the sawmill, Leibering Lumber and Logging, Inc.

Primary Processing
After arriving at Leibering Lumber and Logging, logs are processed into lumber.

Lumber Drying
Lumber is dried to a moisture content of 6-8% in one of the four kilns at Leibering Dimension, Inc.
06
Secondary Processing
Dried lumber is transferred into the dimension plant, Leibering Dimension, for final milling.
